“A straight smile can change everything!”
At Amir Sanjabi, DDS, we offer you Invisalign clear-align treatment as an invisible option to improve your smile.
Invisalign are clear, transparent, plastic orthodontic devices that you can use to adjust your teeth into their proper position, instead of braces. These aligners are custom-made to fit the exact shape and size of your teeth.
The Difference Between Braces and Invisalign
Dental braces consist of metal brackets that run along a wire. These braces are affixed onto your teeth and cannot be removed without an Orthodontists' intervention. They are very effective for complex issues of teeth alignment.
In contrast, Invisalign aligners are not braces but are similar to clear retainers. They work well for teeth movement that is not too complicated. A set of clear aligners are worn at least 22 hours a day and require change-out about every two weeks. One of the biggest advantages of Invisalign over braces is that Invisalign aligners are virtually invisible. What makes Invisalign aligners a great option is that they are easily removable. These devices are good for people who don't want anyone to feel uncomfortable in social settings with a mouthful of braces but also want to improve the aesthetics of their smile.
Cost of Invisalign
The cost of Invisalign may be slightly more than traditional braces and can range from $3,500 to over $6,000. At Amir Sanjabi, DDS, Amir Sanjabi, DDS can give a better estimate of the price, based on the extent of the alignment of your teeth require.
What to Expect During an Invisalign Treatment
We recommend wearing the Invisalign aligners for at least 22 hours a day. However, they must be removed if you want to eat or drink anything other than cold water. Hot food can distort the soft plastic of the device, while sugary or acidic food can deposit beneath the aligners. Since saliva cannot reach beneath the aligners and neutralize the effects of such food, it can result in plaque over time. You will also need to clean your teeth after each snack or drink before putting on the aligners.
If you do not follow the requirements, it can extend your treatment or may not give you the best results. As with any kind of orthodontic treatment, there are certain lifestyle changes that need to be made for Invisalign to work.
How Long Does Invisalign Treatment Take?
Average Invisalign treatment can be finished from 12 months to 24 months, which is about the same time required y regular braces. However, some slight changes to your teeth alignment can be completed in as little as 6 months. Your treatment time may vary depending on the extent of your adjustments.
